The 8 gallon conical Fermentor I use was intended to be used as an unitank, but due to the gigantic surface area of the 12 in lid, the TC clamp is just not cut out for containing that kind of pressure. However the initial conversation I had with the Brewers Hardware folks indicated that a pressure clamp was coming.
Enter this ginormous clamp that bolts at both sides. Not sure how big this clamp is?
That is a 1.5in clamp, compared to the 12im clamp.
Unfortunately I have to wait until I brew the pilsner next to use it. If I end up dead, it is because I forgot to vent it before I loosened the clamp!
